Recently published research by the team at the University of Southern California has been featured in MedPage Today. 

The research demonstrates that capillary damage and blood brain barrier break down are present in individuals with early cognitive impairmnet. Cerebrospinal fluid levels of a marker of pericyte damage correlated with cognitive impairment. The team suggest that therse may be an early marker of cognitive impairment, and that it occurs independently of amyloid beta or tau.
