Rosa is a Graduate Student whose research project focuses on neuroimaging and histopathological evaluation of cerebral small vessel disease in sleep apnea. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how physiological changes (hypoxia, hypertension, and sleep disruption) in sleep apnea are associated with small vessel disease. Our lab uses ambulatory devices to measure and quantify sleep and circadian disruptions, including sleep apnea, in large community-based cohorts.

Rosa's work has been funded by The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) program, which encourages excellence in graduate studies at publicly-assisted universities in Ontario. The OGS program has been providing merit-based scholarships to Ontario’s best graduate students in all disciplines of academic study, since 1975. The scholarship program at the University of Toronto is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and the University of Toronto.
